A board of directors is empowered to administrate and guide the direction and activities of the organization. A membership structure provides important financial backbone because those members, many who are also volunteers, are willing to infuse important capital into this inspired idea.
Our aim is fixed firmly on growing naturally productive plants—fruits, vegetables and herbs—and to market our harvest to the public at a Market Stand at Unity Village… hence our name The Gardens at Unity Village.
We also feature an important education component and intend to become renowned for managing and recycling natural resources through our own practices and through outreach and instruction to the general public that we serve.
Our mission is to be an expression of abundance, spiritual connection and stewardship…a community of people committed to growing healthy food and sustaining a prosperous green model for generations to come.
As our country and indeed the world move increasingly toward a more deliberate stewardship of our planet, more and more people are looking for opportunities to contribute to that movement. The Gardens at Unity Village fulfills two timely needs: the drive to participate in practical ways and the desire to have natural alternatives to processed food. Therefore we attract those who participate by volunteering and those who buy our products.
The Gardens at Unity Village operates effectively with a medley of volunteers who form a whole greater than its parts. Our strategy is to function pragmatically, progressively increasing our scope of operations as resources are available to do so.
It is our belief that this venture is viable, that it will flourish and that it will grow as an asset and a blessing to our world.
